First American Merges Claims In Orleans Ch. 11

Law360, New York (March 3, 2011, 8:03 PM EST) -- A Delaware bankruptcy judge Thursday approved an agreement between First American Title Insurance Co. and the unsecured creditors committee of Orleans Homebuilders Inc. that lumps together dozens of the insurer's disallowed claims into one surviving claim.

Judge Peter Walsh of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware approved the stipulation by the official committee of unsecured creditors and First American that finds the insurer’s 58 claims are duplicative and disallowed and consolidates them into an outstanding claim for nearly $3.3 million.
