Va. Bill Seeks To Outlaw Chinese Drywall In Homes

Law360, New York (March 4, 2011, 2:49 PM EST) -- The Virginia General Assembly passed legislation Thursday that would ban contractors from installing toxic drywall imported from China in homes or selling property that contains the defective building material.

The assembly unanimously passed legislation, S.B. 1294, that would make the installation of Chinese drywall in construction, remodeling or repair of homes in the state a violation of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act.
