ITA Proposes Lower Shrimp Duties For Asian Exporters

Law360 (March 4, 2011, 4:31 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce on Friday again recommended slashing anti-dumping duties on importers of frozen warmwater shrimp from several Asian countries, though the agency expects to maintain a Vietnam-wide margin of 25.76 percent.

In preliminary results from its fifth administrative review of anti-dumping duties, the agency proposed excluding 23 Vietnamese exporters from the countrywide rate, suggesting anti-dumping duty markups ranging between 1.36 percent and 1.67 percent for the companies. Previously, most exempted Vietnamese exporters shouldered rates between 4.30 percent and 5.24.
