Burns Doane, Merchant & Gould Call Off Merger Talks

Law360 (October 1, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Burns Doane and Merchant & Gould have called off talks about a merger that would have created one of the largest intellectual property specialty firms in the U.S.

Alexandria, Virginia-based Burns, Doane, Swecker & Mathis, L.L.P. approached Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Merchant & Gould P.C. last fall, after making a shortlist of potential targets for a combination, according to Burns Doane managing partner R. Danny Huntington.
