High Court Refuses To Hear Bribery Appeals

Law360, New York (March 7, 2011, 3:39 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court refused Monday to consider three cases from petitioners who said the anti-bribery statutes that sent them to prison over a county project in Alabama should require evidence of a quid pro quo arrangement for conviction.

The high court denied three petitions for certiorari lodged by six defendants wrapped up in a massive bribery scheme connected to a $3 billion sewer rehabilitation project in Jefferson County, Ala.
