Toyota Recalls 22K Vehicles With Tire Gauge Problems

Law360, New York (March 7, 2011, 5:26 PM EST) -- Toyota Motor Corp. told federal regulators Friday that it was recalling 22,000 trucks and sport-utility vehicles because of tire-pressure monitoring problems, on the heels of other recalls last week by Honda Motor Co. Ltd. and Chrysler Group LLC.

The tire-pressure monitoring systems in Toyota's recalled trucks and SUVs fail to light up when pressure is low, potentially leading to tire failure and crashes, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notice.
