Rival Says Finisar Lasers Infringe 5 Patents

Law360, New York (March 7, 2011, 8:44 PM EST) -- Optical Communication Products Inc. on Monday sued Finisar Corp., a competitor in the Silicon Valley tech world, over alleged infringement of five laser patents, asking a Texas federal court to halt operations at a state-of-the-art plant in Allen, Texas.

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Finisar has committed five counts of patent infringement by making and selling Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers, or VCSELs, at the plant, OCP complained to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
