DOJ Morale Low Amid Budget Impasse, Holder Says

Law360, New York (March 10, 2011, 4:07 PM EST) -- Attorney General Eric Holder told lawmakers Thursday that the U.S. Department of Justice had implemented a hiring freeze and that morale in the department was hurt by the ongoing inability of Congress to finalize a 2011 budget.

In testimony about the Justice Department's proposed 2012 budget, Holder briefly described to members of the Senate Appropriations Committee's subcommittee on commerce, justice, science and related agencies how federal temporary spending measures in lieu of a final budget for the current year have weighed on his agency.
