OSHA Cites Ga. Cotton Plant After Worker Death

Law360 (March 8, 2011, 3:32 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited a Georgia cotton manufacturer with 16 health and safety violations Tuesday following its investigation of a worker’s death there in September.

The worker who died fell from a rolling ladder while repairing a cotton-spinning machine, according to OSHA.

The 16 violations by Parkdale America LLC in Lavonia, Ga., were all “serious,” meaning the agency believes there is a “substantial probability that death or serious physical harm could result from a hazard about which the employer...
