Fla. Judge Backs Contract For Prescription Program

Law360, New York (March 9, 2011, 2:13 PM EST) -- A Florida administrative law judge on Tuesday recommended tossing Optimum Technology Inc.'s protest over the award of a contract for running the state's prescription drug monitoring program.

Administrative Law Judge Robert E. Meale affirmed the state Department of Health's plans to award the contract to Health Information Designs Inc. and recommended that the department issue a final order dismissing the protest. He found no evidence that the planned award “violates the applicable statutes, rules, policies" or request for proposals.
