TPG Associate Blasts Key SEC Witness In Trading Suit

Law360, New York (March 9, 2011, 8:04 PM EST) -- A key witness for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in a California case accusing a former TPG Capital LP associate of trading insider information about corporate transactions for cash suffers from serious mental health issues, the defense said Wednesday.

Pascal Vaghar, whose testimony could determine how much defendant Vinayak Gowrish must pay in fines and disgorgements, has memory problems and other mental problems because of a brain injury, Gowrish's attorneys said in a brief to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California....
