Examiner OKs $2.6M Weiland Fee In Fremont Ch. 11

Law360, New York (March 10, 2011, 3:58 PM EST) -- An examiner appointed in the bankruptcy of subprime lender Fremont General Corp. has determined that the majority of a $2.6 million fee request by counsel for the official committee of unsecured creditors is legitimate.

Judge Erithe A. Smith of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California appointed the examiner — retired Judge Mitchel R. Goldberg of the same court — to review the fee request following a protest by Fremont’s reorganized successor Signature Group Holdings Inc.
