BP Contractors Seek $500M Over Benzene Exposure

Law360, New York (March 10, 2011, 6:06 PM EST) -- Eight contractors sued BP Products North America Inc. and Pasadena Tank Corp. last week in Texas, seeking $500 million and claiming their health was put in jeopardy when they were exposed to a benzene leak at the oil giant's Texas City refinery.

Willie Dimes Jr. and seven others say they were exposed to the cancer-causing chemical on Aug. 19, 2009, in a complaint lodged March 4 in the the District Court of Galveston County, Texas.
