Ex-WellCare Execs Plead Not Guilty To Medicaid Fraud

Law360, New York (March 10, 2011, 11:24 PM EST) -- Four of the five former WellCare Health Plans Inc. executives charged with Medicaid fraud earlier this month pled not guilty in a Florida federal court Thursday.

In a hearing in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Judge Mark A. Pizzo ordered the four defendants — former WellCare CEO Todd Farha, ex-General Counsel Thaddeus M.S. Bereday, former Chief Financial Officer Paul L. Behrens, and former Vice President for Medical Economics Peter E. Clay — to surrender their passports and set a trial date...
