Heater Co. Fired Worker For Raising Issues, DOL Says

Law360, New York (March 11, 2011, 3:06 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Labor is taking an air conditioner and heater manufacturer to task in Texas, alleging the company fired an employee for challenging its purported failure to report job-related injuries.

The DOL filed suit March 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas after the terminated worker lodged a whistleblower complaint with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, claiming Goodman Global Inc. blackballed her after she took issue with the company’s record-keeping practices.
