Judge Sends Calif. City Corruption Case To Trial

Law360, New York (March 11, 2011, 7:14 PM EST) -- A California judge on Thursday ordered the former city manager of Bell, Calif., and three other city officials to stand trial on charges that they loaned themselves money, altered records and misappropriated millions of dollars of public funds.

After a preliminary hearing that lasted nearly three weeks, Judge Henry J. Hall of the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, ruled there was sufficient evidence for the case against Robert Rizzo, 57, to proceed.
