DOJ Probes Foreclosures On Military Families

Law360, New York (March 14, 2011, 6:52 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice on Monday confirmed statements made in a Michigan court filing that it was investigating a Morgan Stanley unit and other lenders for violating a law barring foreclosures on military families.

The investigation was disclosed in court papers filed in a case against the unit, Saxon Mortgage Services Inc., and Deutsche Bank Trust Co. Americas in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. The filing was March 8, and the suit settled Friday.
