9th Circ. Refuses To Freeze $58M LabCorp Merger

Law360, New York (March 15, 2011, 7:19 PM EDT) -- The Ninth Circuit refused Monday to grant the Federal Trade Commission’s emergency bid for an injunction on Laboratory Corp. of America’s $57.5 million deal for Westcliff Medical Laboratories Inc.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit also lifted a temporary injunction on the merger that it handed down March 4, saying it would hear the FTC’s appeal of a lower court’s decision not to enjoin the deal the week of June 6.
