Mead Johnson Settles Enfamil MDL For $12M

Law360, New York (March 15, 2011, 9:59 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Tuesday was asked to approve a $12 million settlement in a multidistrict litigation between Mead Johnson & Co. and plaintiffs accusing the baby-nutrition giant of running false ads about its infant formula Enfamil Lipil.

The parties asked Judge James I. Cohn of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida for preliminary approval to settle the case, which accused Mead Johnson of wrongly claiming in advertisements that its Enfamil formula was "clinically superior" to its competitors' products.
