Honeywell Sues 34 Blue-Chip Electronics Makers Over LCD Patents

Law360, New York (October 6, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Aerospace and high-tech conglomerate Honeywell International Inc. has sued 34 electronics companies, including Apple Computer, Dell, Eastman Kodak, Nokia, Sanyo, Sony and Toshiba, for infringing a patent for liquid crystal displays.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Delaware, seeks monetary damages and an injunction to stop products from being sold that infringe on a patent for a technology that “increases the brightness of images and that reduces the appearance of certain interference effects” on LCDs.
