Judge Rules For Texas Instruments In Licensing Spat With Qualcomm

Law360, New York (October 6, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Delaware judge has ruled in favor of Texas Instruments in Qualcomm’s far-flung lawsuit over TI’s alleged breach of a licensing deal for CDMA technology.

Judge William Chandler 3rd of the Delaware Chancery Court rejected Qualcomm's arguments that Texas Instruments violated the terms of a December 2000 agreement, which allows Texas Instruments to use some Qualcomm patents royalty-free.

The decision followed a ruling in July in which the court rejected a separate assertion by Qualcomm that TI had breached the same agreement.
