NY AG Names New Securities Watchdog

Law360, New York (March 17, 2011, 2:24 PM EDT) -- New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman on Thursday named Marc B. Minor to head his office’s Investor Protection Bureau, which has broad authority to investigate possible fraud in the sale or purchase of securities in the state.

The office has been involved in the state investigation of Bernard L. Madoff’s $65 billion Ponzi scheme, as well as multiple state actions against securities lenders flowing from the 2008 financial crisis.
