Senate Adopts Bill Targeting Subcontractor Fraud

Law360, New York (March 17, 2011, 3:15 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate unanimously approved on Wednesday an amendment to pending small business legislation aimed at keeping large companies from fraudulently adding women- and minority-owned businesses to contract bids in order to receive preferential treatment.

The amendment to S. 493 — the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer Reauthorization Act of 2011 — was adopted by a unanimous vote of 99-0.
