J&G Partner Says He Faked $2B In Losses For Clients

Law360, New York (March 17, 2011, 8:06 PM EDT) -- Former Jenkens & Gilchrist PC shareholder Erwin Mayer testified against ex-colleagues Thursday in a trial in New York over an alleged scheme to help wealthy clients cheat on their taxes, telling jurors that he helped generate more than $2 billion in phony losses.

Mayer, who has pled guilty to tax charges, took the stand in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, providing the court with a detailed view of the alleged plot.
