US, Oil Cos. End Enviro Suit Over Water Pollution

Law360, New York (March 17, 2011, 7:56 PM EDT) -- The federal government on Thursday finalized a consent decree with Rutherford Oil Corp. and others over a Clean Water Act violation for discharging pollutants into Texas' Galveston Bay, figuring in a combined $800,000 payment for penalties and remediation.

Judge Lee H. Rosenthal signed off on the decree in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. The parties had asked for approval on Tuesday.
