3M To Pay $12M To Settle Age Bias Action

Law360, New York (March 18, 2011, 4:59 PM EDT) -- 3M Co. said Friday it would pay $12 million to settle a Minnesota age discrimination suit brought by a proposed class of about 6,000 employees over the age of 46.

The parties filed a joint motion asking the County of Ramsey District Court in Minnesota to preliminarily approve the settlement.

The motion also requests that the court certify a settlement class comprised of all individuals who were 46 or older when employed by 3M in Minnesota from May 2003 to December 2010, and who did not...
