Supreme Court Nixes U. Of Phoenix's Bid For Review

Law360, New York (April 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court has denied a request from the nation’s largest for-profit university to review a False Claims Act suit accusing the defendant of illegally paying counselors based on the number of students they enrolled and seeking billions of dollars in damages.

The case will now go forward in district court in Sacramento, where the next item on the calendar is a June hearing on a motion to dismiss by the defendant, the University of Phoenix, said Nancy G. Krop, an attorney for the plaintiffs....
