Duane Reade Escapes $7M Kasowitz Legal Fee Spat

Law360, New York (March 21, 2011, 2:43 PM EDT) -- A New York judge on Thursday tossed Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP's suit seeking to force Duane Reade Inc. to pay a $7.1 million success fee for the firm's work on the retailer's contract suit against an ATM provider.

Judge Paul Wooten of the New York State Supreme Court ruled that Duane Reade had not breached its contract with the firm, granting the pharmacy chain summary judgment and dismissing the suit entirely.
