Ex-Global Express Chief Gets 12 Years In Fraud Case

Law360, New York (March 22, 2011, 2:34 PM EDT) -- A federal judge in Nevada sentenced the former head of Global Express Securities Inc. to 12 years in prison Friday for bilking investors out of millions of dollars through bogus real estate developments.

Connie S. Farris, who owned Global Express and two other similarly named companies, was convicted on 39 counts of mail fraud in November following a three-week jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada. She had faced a possible maximum sentence of 27 years.
