US Says China Flooring Unfairly Helped, Issues Duties

Law360, New York (March 23, 2011, 2:41 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce on Tuesday issued a preliminary determination that multilayered wood flooring from China was unfairly priced because of subsidies provided by the Chinese government.

In a statement Tuesday, Commerce announced that Chinese producers and exporters of the wood flooring product had received countervailable subsidies ranging from zero to 27.01 percent ad valorem.
