Huron Execs Shake Off Shareholder Derivative Suit

Law360, New York (March 23, 2011, 1:23 PM EDT) -- Huron Consulting Group Inc. officers and directors on Tuesday escaped a shareholder derivative suit in Illinois alleging they overstated company earnings by roughly $57 million.

Judge Elaine E. Bucklo of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois tossed the Oakland County Employees' Retirement System’s second amended complaint without leave to amend.

She ruled that the plaintiffs had not demonstrated demand futility, and said she accordingly did not need to address the remaining issues in the defendants’ motions to dismiss.
