Beacon Sues Garmin Over Vehicle Tracking Technology

Law360, New York (March 23, 2011, 1:07 PM EDT) -- Beacon Wireless Solutions Inc. sued Garmin International Inc. on Monday in Virginia, alleging the company violated a trade secrets agreement and publicly disclosed Beacon's technology for monitoring vehicles.

The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia, claims that after working with Beacon to develop technology for commercial fleet operators to keep track of their vehicles, Garmin made the specifications available to third parties, in breach of a nondisclosure agreement.
