Va. Hands State Contractors Preference In Bids

Law360, New York (March 23, 2011, 12:54 PM EDT) -- Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell on Tuesday signed a law that will give preference for state contracts to Virginia businesses and companies that make products in-state.

H. 1929 will amend the Virginia Public Procurement Act to give preference to companies based or incorporated in Virginia or that make their products in the state if two contractors make the same bid.
