Ex-Toyota Atty Can't Shake $2.6M Arbitration Ruling

Law360, New York (March 23, 2011, 7:45 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Friday confirmed a $2.6 million arbitration award against a former Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. attorney for disclosing allegedly confidential documents that he claimed showed the company covering up evidence in rollover accident litigation.

Judge George H. King of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California confirmed an arbitrator's decision to award Toyota $2.5 million in liquidated damages and $100,000 in punitive damages in its dispute with former in-house attorney Dimitrios P. Biller.
