Lucky Brand Faces Trademark Suit Over Boot Design

Law360, New York (March 23, 2011, 9:32 PM EDT) -- Apparel retailer Lucky Brand Inc. on Wednesday was roped into a trademark infringement suit in California alleging it knocked off a high-end boot maker’s best-selling design.

Chula Vista, Calif.-based Old Gringo LLC lodged a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, accusing the Liz Claiborne Inc. unit of making and selling footwear that copied Old Gringo’s popular Marsha line of embroidered boots with an industrial side zipper.
