Black Auburn Employees File Race Bias Suit

Law360, New York (March 24, 2011, 11:13 PM EDT) -- Nine black staffers in Auburn University's athletics department accused the department of racial discrimination in a lawsuit filed Thursday in Alabama federal court.

Though department staff are overwhelmingly white — of dozens of employees, only about 2 percent are black — staff fired or reassigned in a recent restructuring were over 90 percent black, the plaintiffs claimed in a suit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.
