PG&E Fined At Least $3M After Fatal Gas Blast

Law360, New York (March 25, 2011, 3:47 PM EDT) -- Pacific Gas & Electric Co. agreed Thursday to pay a penalty of at least $3 million for failing to comply with a records search order in the wake of a deadly natural gas pipeline explosion in San Bruno, Calif.

Under an agreement with the California Public Utilities Commission to resolve an order to show cause, PG&E will be fined $6 million, $3 million of which will be paid immediately into the California state general fund. The other $3 million will be suspended pending the company's completion...
