Texas Supreme Court Rejects Tanox Case Vs. Former IP Attorneys

Law360 (November 3, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Texas Supreme Court Friday rejected a petition for review filed by drugmaker Tanox, which had wanted the court to set aside the arbitration award favoring its former attorneys, the company said in a statement.

The award stemmed from a disagreement in the calculation of attorneys' fees with Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld, L.L.P.; the Robinson Law Firm; and Williams, Birnberg & Andersen.

The attorneys had represented Tanox in a lawsuit involving Genentech, relating to, among other things, the intellectual property rights of the parties...
