Suit Claims Apple's iPod Infringes Patent

Law360, New York (April 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Florida-based company has tried to take a bite out of Apple Inc., filing a lawsuit claiming that Apple devices, including the iPod, infringe a patent covering a method for generating a customized media list based on the preferences of the user.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Individual Network LLC in Texas on Tuesday.

Individual Network, which bills itself as a software company that focuses on delivering customized media content and customized advertising over the Internet, has asserted U.S. Patent Number 7,117,516.
