Convicted Goldman Techie Denied Bail Amid Appeal

Law360, New York (March 28, 2011, 4:37 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge refused to grant bail Monday to a Goldman Sachs Group Inc. programmer while he appeals his eight-year prison sentence and conviction for stealing his former employer’s high-frequency trading code.

Judge Denise Cote of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said Sergey Aleynikov had failed to give a sufficient reason for his release or reassure the court that he was not a flight risk.
