Apotex Must Return $28M Award To Servier: UK Court

Law360, New York (March 29, 2011, 4:49 PM EDT) -- A U.K. court on Tuesday ordered Apotex Inc. to pay back a £17.5 million ($28 million) damages award, plus interest, to Servier Laboratories in a complex patent dispute over the blood pressure drug perindopril.

Justice Richard Arnold of the High Court of England and Wales ruled that because Apotex was found to have infringed a Servier patent in Canada, it must return the £17.5 million it received from Servier in 2008 in a case in the U.K.
