Corps Beats CWA Suit Over Puget Sound Energy Permit

Law360 (March 31, 2011, 4:04 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers prevailed Wednesday in a lawsuit that accused it of violating the Clean Water Act by avoiding a thorough environmental review for renovations at a Puget Sound Energy Inc. hydropower plant in Washington state.

Judge John C. Coughenour of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington denied the Snoqualmie Valley Preservation Alliance’s motion for summary judgment and granted a cross motion for summary judgment to the Army Corps.
