US Discovers Trace Radiation From Japan In Milk

Law360 (March 30, 2011, 9:51 PM EDT) -- The U.S. government reported Wednesday that it had detected trace amounts of radiation in milk from Spokane, Wash., as a result of increased nationwide monitoring of potential impacts from Japan's imperiled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Food and Drug Administration stressed in a joint statement Wednesday that the radiation levels detected in the milk were far below levels of public health concern, including for infants and children.
