Former JP Morgan VP Claims Race, Gender Bias

Law360, New York (April 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former vice president at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. has sued the financial services firm for allegedly demoting and then firing her after she complained about race and gender discrimination.

Beverley Brown filed the suit on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, seeking damages under state and federal civil rights laws for emotional injury, loss of pay and loss of benefits. She also sought punitive and liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees and reinstatement.
