Actavis Pays $10M To Exit Kentucky Medicaid Suit

Law360, New York (March 31, 2011, 7:22 PM EDT) -- Affiliates of generics maker Actavis Group have agreed to pay $10.2 million to settle a lawsuit alleging they overcharged Kentucky's Medicaid program by publishing bogus prices for their drugs, the state announced Wednesday.

The Franklin Circuit Court has already signed off on the settlement agreement and dismissed all claims against Alpharma USPD Inc. and Purepac Pharmaceutical Inc., which were bought by Actavis in 2005. The announcement is the latest in a case that initially targeted several dozen drug companies.
