Law360 (April 4, 2011, 1:15 PM EDT) -- A Massachusetts federal judge on Thursday preliminarily signed off on a $485,010 deal between satellite television installer DirecTech Delaware Inc. and technicians who alleged the company failed to pay them overtime.
Judge George A. O'Toole Jr. granted preliminary approval to a $485,010 settlement that resolves the technicians' claims against DirecTech, now known as Multiband NE Inc.
Judge O'Toole also granted preliminary certification to a settlement class that comprises all job-based technicians employed by the company in Massachusetts at any time between Aug. 10, 2006, and Jan. 31, 2009. The class includes 320 individuals, according to court documents.
