EU Appeals WTO Ruling In Boeing Subsidies Case

Law360, New York (April 1, 2011, 12:47 PM EDT) -- The European Union on Friday appealed a World Trade Organization ruling that Boeing Co. received $5.3 billion in subsidies from U.S. and local governments dating back to 1989.

The appeal came after the EU said Thursday's finding vindicated its position that the U.S. illegally subsidized the aircraft giant. However, the WTO ruled that the subsidies were considerably less than the EU had claimed.
