Ohio Gov. Inks Bill To Curb Public Unions

Law360, New York (April 1, 2011, 5:18 PM EDT) -- Ohio Gov. John Kasich on Thursday signed a bill that curtails collective bargaining rights for public employees and bars them from striking, in the wake of a similar, hotly debated bill in Wisconsin.

Kasich, a Republican, said the law will reduce the burden on municipalities that negotiate union contracts and lighten Ohio's tax burden on businesses.
