Texas High Court Won't Rehear Exxon Sabotage Suit

Law360, New York (April 1, 2011, 7:44 PM EDT) -- The Supreme Court of Texas on Friday denied Exxon Mobil Corp.'s bid to revisit a case that accused the oil giant of sabotaging wells in order to prevent other companies that leased the land from drilling at those locations.

The state high court denied Exxon's request for a rehearing to address a fraud claim from Emerald Oil & Gas Co. LC that it had remanded to a trial court. In denying the rehearing petition, the state Supreme Court withdrew its Dec. 17 opinion on the case,...
