Judge Trims Groundwater Suit Against Coca-Cola

Law360, New York (April 4, 2011, 7:55 PM EDT) -- Michigan residents who accused The Coca-Cola Co. of contaminating their drinking water suffered a setback Thursday when a federal judge dismissed several claims and 22 individual plaintiffs for failure to state a claim for relief. 

Judge Robert Holmes Bell of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan said the 22 dismissed plaintiffs did not cite specific, individual injuries caused by Coca-Cola's conduct, and relied instead on blanket statements of wrongdoing.
